THE hearing resumed briefly in the High Court yesterday of a case brought by three gardai who are seeking to quash decisions of the Garda Representative Association (GRA). Judgment was then reserved.

The case, before Mr Justice Kelly, opened last November and was adjourned to allow further documentation to be made available.

Gardai Patrick Bane, Frank Gunn and Donal O Gallachoir want to overturn decisions that they were guilty of certain charges of acting prejudicially to the interests of the GRA and its members.

It was stated the background to the case related to a point close to the beginning of the difficulties which led to the formation of the Garda Federation. The GRA denies the claims and states that the proceedings were not relevant as the three gardai were no longer members of the association.
