The jury in a rape trial was discharged last night having failed to reach a verdict after more than six hours deliberation.
The accused was remanded on bail and the case was adjourned to March 13th when a new trial date will be fixed at the Central Criminal Court.
During the three-day trial, a 40-year-old security man had pleaded not guilty to raping and sexually assaulting a 45-year-old Wexford mother of three on her front doorstep in the early, hours of September 13th, 1992.
