Roy Keane and Sonia O’Sullivan have been awarded the Freedom of the City of Cork today.
Cork City Council honoured the two athletes in a ceremony held in Cork’s historic city hall this afternoon.

The granting of the Freedom of the City is a tradition that dates back to the time that a city charter was granted to Cork in 1085.
The footballer and athlete are being honoured for their contributions to sport and charitable causes.
