Phnom Penh - The chief executioner of Cambodia's Khmer Rouge, who ordered thousands of people killed in the 1970s, is a born-again Christian ready to face justice, the Far Eastern Economic Review said yesterday. Kang Kek Ieu (56) had admitted to being "Duch", the director of the Tuol Sleng detention centre in Phnom Penh, where scholars say at least 16,000 people were tortured before execution during the Khmer Rouge's 1975-1979 "killing fields" reign of terror, the magazine said.
