A man suffered serious head injuries overnight after a mass street brawl in Co Armagh.

A man suffered serious head injuries overnight after a mass street brawl in Co Armagh.

Up to 25 foreign nationals were involved in the fight in the Thomas Street area of Portadown.

Three men and a woman were arrested for a number of offences, including GBH with intent and assault on police.

A number of weapons, including four knives, were also seized but there were no reports of any stabbings.

A PSNI spokeswoman said two people were taken to hospital, one of whom had serious head injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the brawl, which broke out shortly before 2am, to come forward.
