Berlin - Dr Helmut Kohl has been attacked by his party successor, Dr Wolfgang Schauble, for doing nothing in the worst days of the political scandal that forced Dr Schauble to resign as leader of the opposition Christian Democratic Union (CDU) last February, Derek Scall reports.
Dr Schauble resigned after making contradictory statements about a political donation he received from a fugitive arms dealer. The attack comes in extracts from Dr Schauble's forthcoming autobiography, which is being serialised in a German news magazine.
