Over 120 landowners living between Cullahill, Co Laois, and Cashel, Co Tipperary, received notification yesterday that the new proposed Cork-Dublin four-lane dual carriageway would come through their land.

The letters informed property owners that the National Roads Authority (NRA), through the relevant local authorities, would seek to purchase the land in order to build the new road. Meanwhile, the north Kilkenny and mid-Tipperary action groups converged on Thurles last night. They met with county councillors from Tipperary, Laois and Kilkenny to express their opposition to the new road.
