London - British scientists have developed a laser device which can detect minute amounts of explosives, including Semtex. Physicists at Leeds University say the instrument is so sensitive it could detect explosives the size of a pin head in an area as big as Wembley Stadium.
Existing technology at airports can only find explosives in an area the sized of a squash court. The latest machine can identify tiny particles of substances which escape the nostrils of sniffer dogs.
