The organisers of June's "Long March" to commemorate the victims of paramilitary violence have reacted angrily to a decision by Belfast City Council to refuse them permission to lay a wreath at the City Hall's cenotaph. The decision was taken in a majority vote by the council's policy and resources committee, which is chaired by a Sinn Fein councillor, Mr Sean McKnight.

A march is planned today from Belfast city centre to Parliament Buildings, Stormont.
