The case against Judge Brian Curtin continued with a second day of legal argument yesterday in the absence of the jury.

Judge Curtin is charged with possession of child pornography at his home in Tralee on May 27th 2002, contrary to Section 6 of the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act, 1998.

On Wednesday, legal argument began in the absence of the jury, whom Judge Carroll Moran asked to return at 10.30 a.m.

He called the jury in at 12.05 a.m. and told them that the matters being canvassed in their absence were not finished with, although he had hoped they would be by lunchtime.

"They will definitely finish tomorrow morning," he said.

Asking the jury to return this morning, he said: "I can say with a degree of confidence that the case will resume shortly after 10.30 in the morning."
