Justin Leonard carded a seven-under-par 64 today to build a three-shot lead in his quest for a second straight Texas Open title.
Leonard had 10 birdies and three bogeys on what he called "an interesting day" at the LaCantera Golf Course in San Antonio.
First-round leader Marco Dawson, who needs to finish in the top three to keep his PGA Tour card, is tied for second with Carl Paulson at 10-under on 132.
Jesper Parnevik of Sweden is tied for fourth with Jay Williamson and Tripp Isenhour on 133.
It was the fourth straight round of 65 or better at LaCantera for Leonard, who has finished no worse than second in three of his last four trips to this course.
"I had 15 great holes and three others," said Leonard, who bogeyed the 12th, 15th and second. "I played well the second nine," he said.
