If your kids are at that age when they want to assist your every action in the kitchen, shouting "I'll help!" and, "Let me, let me!", then you probably need a copy of Sarah Webb's neat little book, Kids Can Cook, which appeared just before Christmas.

It's a fun mixture which includes explanations of cookery terms, and has lots of potato specials, vegetable and cake recipes, breads and drinks, sweets and snacks. Best of all, the tone of the book is well judged, so it explains things and never preaches.

Kids Can Cook by Sarah Webb is published by The Children's Press, price £3.95
