She's the belle of the ball, but Isabella Terrinoni (4), in a two-tone fur gillet with co-ordinating beige bell-bottoms, refuses to speak. The little girl is determined only to observe the latest in cuttingedge fashion. Her personal assistant and mother, Grace Terrinoni of the Pizza Stop restaurant in Chatham Lane, is on hand, however, to offer advice on purchases. The latest in jewellery, accessories and throws are on view at a party at Harcourt Terrace. Guests have come from as far away as New York, Vienna and . . . Kiltimagh in Co Mayo to join the style queen herself, Emma Kelly, in her house, to view the luxury items and maybe to buy a Christmas present. Designer Melissa Curry is here with her latest jewellery creations in geometric shapes of leather, suede, feathers and fine silver. Her Flouo Collection is all about "light and spirit", she explains.

Helen James, who has just flown in from New York, displays her scarves and cushions, which are now available in Tracy Tucker's shop, Costume, on Dublin's Castle Market Street. For those who prefer to shop in New York, they're available at Donna Karan's store in the Big Apple. Mary West, James's former art teacher at St Andrew's College, is here with her husband, Derek West, principal at Newpark Comprehensive School.

Ciara Walsh, another New York resident and designer, is home for Christmas. She's brought her friend, stylist Maggie Hong, along too. And her father, Billy Walsh, who is building a wind farm in Kiltimagh, Co Mayo, says the items are lovely. Recording the events on a small digital camera is Judith Hornok, from Vienna.
