Lisburn woman found guilty of killing husband

A mother of triplets was today convicted of the murder of her husband.

A mother of triplets was today convicted of the murder of her husband.

A jury at Belfast Crown Court found Lesley Gault (35) guilty of the murder of her husband Paul in May 2000.

Gault was also found guilty of conspiring with former lover Gordon Graham to murder her husband in the couple's Audley Avenue home in Lisburn on May 19th, 2000.

Graham is serving a life sentence for bludgeoning Mr Gault to death with a hockey stick.

Relatives of Mr Gault cheered and shouted "yes" at the back of the court as the jury returned its verdict.

Mrs Gault held her head in her hands and her family wept at the same time. As Gault was led from the dock by prison officers, one of her husband's family shouted: "Enjoy your stay, witch".
