London - London could be the next target for suicide bombings and Islamic violence according to British police sources, quoted in yesterday's Daily Telegraph.
Egyptian Islamic Jihad and the GIA of Algeria have long preferred to use Britain as a safe haven and have found it an easy place to communicate and raise battle funds, the paper said.
"Our professional judgement is that the US attacks make it all very different," a senior security official told the paper.
"The possibility of vehicles being driven through gates and blowing up hundreds of people is probably remote, but walking terrorists, suicide bombers in the street, are much more likely," the official said.
