Independent TD Michael Lowry has amended his register of Dáil interests to include a parcel of land he part-owns at Wigan in England.
In a statement last night the Tipperary TD said the land, which was of “of negligible value”, was held in partnership. “While under no obligation to do so, I have made this entry in response to wildly inaccurate speculation regarding its value,” said the TD.
The Irish Examiner reported that Mr Lowry had failed to declare on his Dáil register of interests co-ownership of 25-acres of land outside Wigan which it said could be worth €10 million if rezoned. The TD has insisted it involves 18 acres and is of little value.
