Belfast city centre was hit by more rioting overnight when about 75 people in the loyalist Sandy Row area attacked police with blast bombs and other missiles.
A car and a minibus were set ablaze during the violence.
There were also reports of shots having been fired. Two people were arrested, and police fired baton rounds.
Earlier on Sunday, police were attacked by a loyalist mob in nearby Bradbury Place.
Four Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) officers were injured when a crowd of around 60 people set two cars and a shop front alight. The officers were hurt when the crowd threw stones at them in the violence, which began at about 2 a.m.
Four men have been charged over the incident, two with riotous behaviour and the others with disorderly behaviour. They are to appear in court later this month. Two other men have been released, pending further investigations, a PSNI spokesman said.
