Over 200 loyalists last night staged a protest outside Drumcree parish church near Portadown. Police prevented the protesters, accompanied by a band, from going towards the nationalist Garvaghy Road.

The former Orange Order Grand Master, the Rev Martin Smyth, will address a rally in Antrim tomorrow night in support of the Portadown lodge members engaged in the Drumcree stand-off.

Speakers will include the DUP Assembly member for East Belfast, Mr Nigel Dodds, Co Armagh Grand Master, Mr Denis Watson, and Portadown District Master, Mr Harold Gracey.
