The Labour Relations Commission's annual report for 2001, published today, has been welcomed by the Minister for Labour Affairs, who praised the organisation's modernity and vision.
Speaking at the launch of the report, the Minister, Mr Frank Fahey, said 2001 had proved to be another year of "considerable activity" for the LRC, which had used its experience, skill and knowledge to deliver a high quality of service to the public.
The annual report for 2001 includes the text of the Autonomy Agreement which was signed by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment and the Labour Relations Commission earlier this year.
The agreement sets out a formal framework for relations between the Department and the LRC.
Mr Fahey also acknowledged the compilation and publication of the LRC's Strategy Framework for 2002-2004 and the review of staffing and resources at the LRC which is currently taking place.
These processes, he said, are "a sign of a modern organisation ensuring its vision and purpose remain relevant".
