A MAN who head butted a detective during a search for guns received a six month suspended sentence yesterday at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court after favourable evidence was given by the victim.
Eric O'Shea (30), of Rutland Grove, Dublin, admitted assaulting Det Sgt O'Carroll during a search by gardai at his home on October 27th, 1992.
Judge Diarmuid Sheridan told O'Shea: "You have every reason to be grateful to Del Sgt Gerry O'Carroll. He has given me the chance to do something for you".
The defendant entered into a bond to keep the peace for two years and not to interfere with gardai on his release from a jail term he is serving.
