A man was arrested this morning in Liscannor, Co Clare after cannabis plants with a value of €50,000 were seized in Co Galway last Friday.
The man, who is in his 20s, is being detained at Gort Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and can be held for up to 24 hours.
The cannabis plants were found at a rented house in the Caherawoneen area of Kinvara, gardaí said.
At least 150 plants were discovered in what was described as “a fairly sophisticated” operation involving specialised automatic lighting and watering systems.
