Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with a fatal stabbing in Tallaght, west Dublin early yesterday morning.
The victim (23) was stabbed in the chest during an altercation between two groups outside an apartment complex at the Cushlawn Dale estate at about 12.30am yesterday.
The incident began outside a late-night shop and spread over towards the apartment complex.
The man was taken to Tallaght hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The scene was preserved and examinations were carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau.
Gardaí detained a man in his 30s this afternoon in Dublin. He is being questioned at Tallaght Garda station under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act.
