Man arrested over south Belfast murder

A 28-year-old man has been arrested following the murder of a man in south Belfast.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested following the murder of a man in south Belfast.

Shane Cunningham (39), was found dead in his former family home in Woodbreda Park at around 10am.

Mr Cunningham had moved out and lived nearby at Rossdale Gardens in the Four Winds area of the city.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland sealed off the area around the house and launched a detailed forensic examination of the scene.

A spokesman said a post mortem would be carried out on the victim to establish the exact cause of injuries to the body.

Police arrested a man in connection with the murder this afternoon.

Police appealed for anyone who was in the Woodbreda Park area at any time
between 10pm last night and this morning and saw anything suspicious to contact them.
