A man lost a number of teeth and suffered injuries to his head and hands following an assault in a car park in Belfast this morning.

The incident happened at 12.20am at a car park on Edward Street when the man was approached by three other masked men.

They handcuffed the victim and tried to bundle him into the rear of a silver-coloured car but the man managed to free himself and make his escape.

He was later taken to hospital where his injuries were described as not life-threatening.
