A YOUNG man died early today after being severely assaulted in Westmoreland Street, Dublin at around 1 a.m.
Gardai said an argument between two groups of men led to the attack.
The victim, whose name will not be released until his family are informed, was taken to the Meath Hospital where he died of his injuries at around 2 a.m.
Gardai are taking a number of statements from witnesses.
