Pretoria - A South African man attacked by a python, which coiled itself around him, sunk his teeth into the snake forcing it to retreat, the Star newspaper reported yesterday. Pretoria resident, Mr Lucas Sibanda (57), was walking home on a remote, narrow path when the snake appeared suddenly from behind some shrubs.

The python started constricting him in an attempt to suffocate him, the Star reported. Mr Sibanda sunk his teeth into the python's neck, while kicking and punching it until the snake finally unwound itself. He then grabbed a stick and hit the snake before it could attack again.
