A 28-year-old Dundalk man has been remanded in custody by the local district court

A 28-year-old Dundalk man has been remanded in custody by the local district court. He is charged in relation to an assault on a woman who died in hospital last Friday. James McDonagh, of Bay 10, Halting Site, Dundalk, appeared before a special sitting of Ardee District Court last Saturday. He was charged with assaulting Ms Sheila McDonagh causing her harm on the September 12th last at Slieve Foy Park, Muirhevnamore, Dundalk. He was charged under Section 3 of the Non Fatal Offences Against the Persons Act, 1997. He appeared before Dundalk District Court yesterday where Judge Flann Brennan granted him legal aid and remanded him in custody until October 15th.
