A man has died following an assault in Co Monaghan in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The victim in his early 20s sustained serious injuries during an incident at Lisdoonan, Carrickmacross shortly after 5am yesterday.
The man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he died last night.
A postmortem on the deceased’s remains is due to conducted later today.
