Man dies in Carlow stabbing

A woman has been arrested following the death of a man in Carlow early this morning.

The 37-year-old man was taken to hospital with what were believed to be stab wounds following an incident at an apartment in Barrow Mills, Graiguecullen, Carlow at about 2am. He was later pronounced dead at St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny.

A 40-year-old woman who was arrested at the scene was also brought to hospital for medical treatment.

Gardaí have preserved the scene for a technical examination, and are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time to contact them at Carlow Garda station.
