A man whose palm print was found on a stolen car number plate used in an armed robbery has been given a six year suspended sentence.

William O'Neill (24) of Keating Street, Limerick was warned by Judge Cyril Kelly that if he offended in any way whatever in the next five years he would serve the full sentence.

Dublin Circuit Criminal Court was told O'Neill was afraid he would be shot if he named the people he assisted in what was described as "a very nasty robbery" of £37,000 from two officials of Mulcair Credit Union on August 15th, 1994.
