A man who indecently assaulted two of his nephews over a 10-year period nearly 40 years ago has been given a three year and nine months suspended sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
The man, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, committed the offences on the then six-year-old and 10-year-old boys when he was aged between 13 and 15 and between 20 and 24 years of age.The now 53-year-old man pleaded guilty.
Judge Patrick McCartan said “there is little to be achieved by sending this man to prison”.
