Tokyo - Japanese police yesterday arrested a man suspected of subjecting a schoolgirl to a nine-year ordeal of terror at his home, officials said.
The alleged kidnapper was taken into custody after undergoing two weeks of mental checkups at a hospital in Kashiwazaki, about 250 km north of Tokyo, following the woman's release, police said. He was identified as Mr Nobuyuki Sato (37), unemployed.
