A CO Tipperary man, Mr Decian Cullagh (29), of Garryard, Silvermines, was charged at Kilcormac Court yesterday with the manslaughter of Ms Marese Egan (25), Springfield, Borrisokane, on August 4th, 1996, at Borrisokane. Garda Supt Kevin Ludlow, Nenagh, told of charging the accused after caution at Borrisokane Garda station. The case arose out of a fatal accident at a fun fair in Borrisokane.

The defendant's brother was approved as a bondsman and he left the court to arrange a cash bond. However, when he failed to return, Judge Mary Fahy remanded Mr Cullagh in custody, with consent to his own bail of £2,000 and an independent surety of £5,000, to Athlone court next Tuesday.
