A man (23) is in a critical but stable condition in hospital after he was assaulted by a gang in Dundalk, Co Louth.
At around 11pm on Tuesday, the man, who is believed to be from Dundalk, was attacked by four men at Toberona on the outskirts of the town.
He reportedly suffered serious injuries to his upper body and was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
It is thought that gardaí are following a definite line of inquiry.
