A man in his forties has drowned in a river in Co Clare overnight.
The man's body was recovered from the River Inagh at Ennistymon after 11.30 p.m. last night. A woman who was understood to have come to his assistance was rescued and is being treated in hospital.
Gardaí are investigating the incident. The man's name has not yet been released.
