A 27-year-old garda who died this afternoon from injuries received in a road accident near Kinnegad on Wednesday has been named.
Paul Colleran of Quarry Park, Moylough, Co Galway was a member of the Garda Siochana and had served in Navan for six years before transferring recently to Loughrea Garda Station.
The accident, involving a lorry and three cars, happened on Wednesday afternoon on the N4 near Kinnegad.
Mr Colleran was the driver of one of the cars.
