A man was killed following a hit-and-run incident in Cork city last night.

A man was killed following a hit-and-run incident in Cork city last night.

The man, who has yet to be named, was a pillion passenger on a motorcycle which was involved in a collision with a car on the South Link Road in Douglas, a mile outside Cork city, at 10 p.m.

The driver of the motorcycle was admitted to hospital following the incident, though his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Gardaí are still seeking the driver of the car, which failed to stop at the scene.
