Man killed in Cork speedboat fall is named

The man who died after falling from a speedboat in west Cork yesterday evening has been named.

The man who died after falling from a speedboat in west Cork yesterday evening has been named.

He was John Harrington, in his 50s, from Bear Island.

He was thrown from the boat when it hit a wave off Castletownbere at about 8.30 p.m.

A Garda spokesman said the man’s body was recovered by the Castletownbere lifeboat at the inner harbour.

He was taken to Cork University Hospital.
