A man was arrested in Strabane yesterday in connection with the abduction of a bank official and his wife in Strabane, Co Tyrone, last week. The man was last night being questioned by detectives in Gough Barracks, Armagh.
Mr Ryan Doherty (23), a Bank of Ireland official, and his wife, Elaine, were abducted from their home in Strabane on Sunday, September 5th, by three armed and masked men and held captive. They were later released after, it is understood, about £25,000 was handed over.
