Gardaí are investigating a serious assault in Dublin city centre last Sunday which left a man needing 150 stitches to his face.

The man was viciously set upon by up to five other men who had left a nightclub near Anglesea Street at about 3 a.m.

The victim was left with serious facial wounds after being slashed with either a bottle or a glass, a Garda spokesman said.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the Anglesea Street or Temple Bar area around 3 a.m. and who may have witnessed the attack to contact them.
