A man accused of stabbing his pregnant wife appeared in court yesterday and was remanded in custody

A man accused of stabbing his pregnant wife appeared in court yesterday and was remanded in custody. Mr Michael King (39), of no fixed abode, is accused of common assault on Ms Kathleen Donnelly and possession of a screwdriver at Collins Place, Finglas, Dublin, on Sunday night.

Garda Michael Nally told Dublin District Court it was alleged the defendant stabbed his estranged wife, who was pregnant, and more serious charges were being considered. Judge Desmond Hogan remanded the defendant in custody.
