A man has appeared in court this morning charged with the murder of a woman in the North 14 years ago.
William Mawhinney (49) was arrested in Cambridgeshire by police investigating the murder of 36-year-old Lorraine Mills in 1995. He appeared today before magistrates at Ballymena, Co Antrim.
The mother of two was found dead at her home in Staffa Drive, Ballymena, in May 1995.
A detective told the court he could connect the defendant with the charge. The accused was remanded in custody to reappear in court at a later date.

He was arrested by PSNI detectives working with officers from Cambridgeshire Police on Monday.
