A Fás trainee has been further remanded in custody at Cork District Court, charged with the murder of his brother on the northside of the city last week.

Peter Lynch (27) was stabbed to death following an incident at Fairfield Square in Farranaree, Cork city, on August 3rd.

His brother Patrick Lynch (25) was subsequently charged with his murder.

Earlier this month, he had appeared at a special sitting of Cork District Court, where he was remanded in custody to Cork Prison. Judge Tim Lucey yesterday remanded Mr Lynch in continuing custody to appear in court again next Friday.

However, Mr Lynch's solicitor, Dermot Kelleher, is due to seek bail in the High Court next Tuesday.

Mr Lynch was buried on August 6th at St Catherine's Cemetery in Kilcully, Co Cork.

He is survived by his parents, partner Susan and son Jay.

He worked as a delivery man in the city and lived with his partner and thier child in Upper John Street on the northside of Cork city.
