Gardai in Galway are investigating a "road rage" attack following a collision at a city roundabout which led to a motorist being hospitalised with stab wounds to his face and neck. A car travelling behind the victim ran into the rear of his vehicle. A row ensued and the driver of the second car stabbed the man before driving away. The injured man contacted the gardai after being admitted to University College Hospital, Galway, where he was treated for his stab wounds.

Meanwhile, a man killed on Thursday after he was hit by a car at Listowel, has been named as Mr Thomas Fealey (25), of Ballinruddery, Listowel, Co Kerry.
