Mourners will today attend the funeral of a man found dead in a car belonging to the woman he allegedly killed.
Model Ms Beverley Payne's body was found in her house in Bryn-coch, Neath, south Wales, just hours after the body of Mr Nicholas Davies (33) was discovered in the driving seat of her Mercedes car after it was pulled from Swansea docks two weeks ago.
Post-mortem results showed she was stabbed once in the heart and that Mr Davies drowned after driving Miss Payne's car into the docks, having first roped himself to the steering wheel.
Miss Payne's three-year-old son Robert and his 11-month-old sister, Rebecca, had spent hours alone with their mother's body before the grim discovery was made.
The officer in charge of the investigation, Detective Chief Superintendent Wynne Phillips, said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the killing of Miss Payne.
Her partner of five-years, 34-year-old Mr Chris Davies, heard about her death when he phoned home while on a trip to Venezuela. He said the couple had been planning to start a new life with their children in the Dutch Antilles, where they intended to marry.
Mr Davies described the man thought to have killed his wife, Mr Nicholas Davies,as ``a close, trusted family friend... who doted on my children''. He worked as the family's handyman and was described as by Mr Davies as "a valued and reliable employee".
