A Cork drug smuggler died from bullet wounds to his chest and head, an inquest into his death heard yesterday. Kieran O'Flynn (39) was shot by a masked gunman at his home in Cork City three weeks ago.
The State pathologist, Dr John Harbison, said Mr O'Flynn had died from shock and bleeding due to a number of bullet wounds. The Cork coroner, Dr Myra Cullinane, agreed to have the inquest adjourned because criminal proceedings were anticipated in relation to the death.
Gardai are still questioning two men in their 20s, arrested in the city on Tuesday morning, in connection with the murder.
Seven people have been arrested in the course of the investigation.
