London - Mr Peter Mandelson yesterday assured his Hartlepool constituents he was committed to serving a full term as their MP and had no ambitions to return to government.
He made clear that he intended to be a loyal New Labour MP in a second term, and not stir up trouble for Prime Minister Blair from the backbenches, as some observers had predicted.
