Mayo 0-14 Laois 0-11: Connacht champions Mayo booked their place in next week's SFC All-Ireland semi-final against Dublin with a dogged 0-14 to 0-11 win over Mick O'Dwyer's Laois in today's quarter-final replay at Croke Park.

The performance was far from vintage but Mickey Moran's men showed "hunger and passion" to ensure their passage to next Sunday's semi-final. Conor Mortimer (0-5) led the scoring as Ronan McGarrity and Pat Harte's work rate were key to the victory.

Laois were slow out of the blocks and had to wait 16 minutes before 'Beano' McDonald put the first point on the board and eventually trailed 0-07 to 0-04 at the interval.

"No Championship match is easy," said Moran on RTE after the game. "Our cause wasn't helped by the amount of injuries we had but the lads were tough and got the crucial scores they needed."

"We should probably have been further ahead at the break but we still got the job done. I'm proud of the players, they showed real hunger and passion today and they got thier rewards."

"We have a huge match against Dublin next week and that will take a massive effort as the Dubs are clear favourites but we're through and that's all that matters for now."

Earlier in the day Kerry qualified for next month's All-Ireland MFC final with their team captain Paddy Curran playing an intrumental role in defeating Donegal 2-13 to 1-10 in today's semi-final.

Curran racked up a personal tally of 1-06 as the Kerry minors go in pursuit of their first title at this level since 1994.

The Kingom went into the interval with a narrow 0-07 to 0-06 lead before substitute Jamie Doolan's 44th-minute goal strengthened Kerry's lead before Curran swapped late goals with Martin McElhinney to wrap up the six-point win.

Roscommon face Meath in the other semi-final next Sunday (27th) with the final due to be played at Croke Park.
