Mayo, Kerry, Laois and Galway progress in league

Mayo finished top of Division 1A to progess into the National Football League semi finals

Mayo finished top of Division 1A to progess into the National Football League semi finals. Kerry finished level with Tyrone but progress on points difference.

Kerry and Dublin shared the points at Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney. Dublin failed to capitalise on their wind advantage in the first half and Kerry dominated in most areas of the pitch to go in leading by 0-07 to 0-05.

A series of quick points put Dublin a point clear in the early stages of the second half.

Colm Cooper was brought on and was crucial to a Kerry recovery that saw them score four points without reply.

A late Colm Keaney point gave Dublin a deserved draw, 0-13 to both sides.

There was also a draw in Castlebar where Mayo and Tyrone finished 1-08 to 0-11, which meant Mayo progressed to the knock-out stages but Tyrone's league campaign came to an end.

Mayo were three points behind ten minutes into the second half when David Brady was brought on as a sub, which turned the game.

Cork retained their division 1 status beating Monaghon 0-07 to 0-09 in Castleblaney. That means both Offaly, who defeated Fermanagh by seven points, and Monaghon will make the drop.

In Division 1B Laois made it through to the semi-finals and Kildare survived following the neighbours' draw in Portlaoise.

It was the perfect result for both sides which either side could have won, but it was Laois who will probably regret their missed opportunities most.

Despite victory for Meath over Derry by two points they were relegated due to results elsewhere.

Armagh survived at the expense of Wexford following their 1-11 to 0-15 victory over the Slaney-siders away from home. Stephen McDonald rescued Armagh from relegation with a point from the last kick of the game.

An emphatic 1-12 to 0-04 win for Galway over Down also saw them progress to the knock-out stages.

In Division 2 Donegal and Limerick claimed promotion from Division 2A, while Louth and Westmeath come out of Division 2B.
