Green Party MEP Ms Patricia McKenna has said she will oppose any plans to use public funds for a one-sided information campaign on the Amsterdam Treaty referendum. She claimed recent comments by Government spokespersons indicated they may be examining ways of reneging on obligations under the Supreme Court ruling in the McKenna case, which requires the Government to provide equal funding to both sides in a referendum campaign.
